Finding a Cure & Ending Brain Cancer, One Dollar At a Time!
Welcome to my personal fundraising page for the 8th Annual Brain Power 5K! :)
I have also created a team page! Please join the SICU SCRUBS using the required password 1234!
For those of you who may not know where the team name originated from, SICU SCRUBS represents the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Dell Seton Medical Center located in Austin, Texas. I thought it would be a fun way to attract my co-workers to join me in this event, but then I decided to take it a step further in sharing it with EVERYONE! :)
WHY IT MATTERS...DID YOU KNOW THAT...
In Austin alone, an estimated 300 adults & 58 children will be diagnosed with brain cancer this year.
In the U.S. 500 people are diagnosed with a brain tumor every day.
There are 120+ types of brain tumors.
Brain Cancer is the DEADLIEST form of CHILDHOOD CANCER.
When you register for one of our Brain Power events, you are not simply signing up to run or walk a race. You are joining a community of people that support brain cancer survivors as well as research.
2018 Brain Power 5K, 10K, Survivor Stride & Kids Run Participants will receive:
A FREE SPORTS MASSAGE
A LIMITED EDITION BRAIN POWER RACE SHIRT
COMMEMORATIVE BIB NUMBER & EVENT TIMING IF SELECTED UPON REGISTRATION
ENTRY INTO THE BRAIN POWER POST RACE PARTY WITH MULTIPLE VENDORS, FOOD, DRINKS, AND OUR ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONY!
Brain Power 5K Charity was established 2011 and is now in the 8th annual year. It is now known as the Brain Power 5K, 10K, Survivor Stride & Kids Run.
Funds from the Brain Power 5K support the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation where their CONTRIBUTIONS HAVE DOUBLED THE AVERAGE SURVIVAL TIME OF BRAIN TUMOR PATIENTS at MD Anderson and Central Texas Brain Tumor Programs!
Local 2018 support also funds local brain cancer research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, pediatric initiatives at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, and pediatric brain tumor research at McGovern Medical School.
In addition, we work to support brain tumor patients through support groups, group volunteer activities and through community partnerships.
